Dark Roast Corrections Policy
At the Dark Roast Report, it is our mission to deliver thorough and accurate reporting. While we pride ourselves in ensuring readers are receiving the most factually correct information, we understand errors can occur. Additionally, we advocate for transparency and are committed to correcting any errors promptly.
Commitment to Accuracy
The Dark Roast team works diligently to make sure all information published is fact-checked and well-sourced.
Identifying Errors
There could be a plethora of reasons as to the why the error was made, including but not limited to:
- Inaccurate facts or data
- Misquotes
- Misleading headlines
- Grammatical errors affecting meaning of the story
Correcting Errors
Any error that has occurred will be corrected, marked and explained. We believe to establish trust with our readers we need to be honest about when mistakes happen.
A correction will include:
- A short and clear statement summarizing the error will be added to the base of the article.
- The corrected error will be marked with an (*) to indicate where the correction was within the article.
- The error will be placed at the bottom to be clear what was previously stated.
Major Corrections
In the case of when a major correction is necessary, such as a significant factual error or potential legal concerns, the Dark Roast will issue a public correction statement in addition to the article’s adjustment.
The Importance of Accountability
For the Dark Roast to operate as an effective publication dedicated to holding public officials accountable and encouraging transparency, we need to be able to hold ourselves to the same standards. We value our readers' feedback and encourage them to bring any potential inaccuracies to our attention. Our goal is to address any reported correction within 24-48 hours of notification.
